Kids Picnic Table Plans - Save Yourself Time and Money construction a Picnic Table For Kids

The kids picnic table plans had gathered dust in my study. A came across them when I was doing a spring clean. As I glanced over the plans I remembered why I had bought them. As a house we spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying the good weather. I imagined my son and daughter sitting at the picnic table on the lawn, laughing, joking and enjoying barbecued chicken and salad from paper plates. I told myself I would absolutely use these Diy plans this summer.

So, on Friday after dinner I spread the plans out over the kitchen table. The kids pointed to the color photograph on the plans. I asked them if they'd like to help me build a picnic table with me this weekend. Their big smiles and jumping nearby in their chairs were all the motivation I needed. I was going to make sure this was a fun and complete woodworking task unlike some of past frustrations and mistakes.

Later, when the kids had gone to bed, I looked over the blueprints more thoroughly. The plans included a detailed step-by-step guide to construction a kids outdoor table. The colour photographs showed how to fabricate each piece of the wooden table until it was complete. The materials list detailed every piece of wood I required and the pre-cut sizes I could ask for at the lumber yard. With this data I worked out an exact budget for the project. All the tools for construction were spelled out.

Saturday morning we all drove down to the lumber yard. I handed over the materials list and pre-cut sizes and went for some lunch with the kids in town. We picked up the lumber and headed back home. We laid out the lumber on the lawn according to the wood working plan like a big jigsaw puzzle in establishment for assembly. After that the picnic table construction was a piece of cake. The kids helped to hold the pieces together and I nailed them to each other. By early evening the picnic table kit was assembled. The kids were excited but I told them we were not complete just yet. I gave them some paintbrushes and we covered the wooden table with a dark stain to safe the wood.

On Sunday the weather was beautiful. I lifted the barbecued chicken, (which I had left marinading overnight in my special sauce!) and put it on the plate with some salad. I brought it over to the kids table like a waiter bringing an order. They laughed at me and sat there like a prince and princess at their own kid's picnic table. This was absolutely one of the best outdoor furniture plans I had ever bought.
